The inaugural ICC Test Championship Mace was won by the BLACKCAPS after they beat India in the final at Southampton from 28 – 23 June 2021. The two-year season leading up to the final was permeated with cancellations and rescheduled games due to the COVID-19. The BLACKCAPS honoured their hard-earned victory by travelling throughout New Zealand with the Mace so they could celebrate alongside their fans.
The English company Thomas Lyte was commissioned by the ICC to design and create the Test Mace and the manufacturing process can be viewed here. The making of the Mace | ICC World Test Championship - YouTube
