In 2017’s opening Chappell-Hadlee ODI between the BLACKCAPS and Australia, Martin Guptill went past his mentor, Martin Crowe, as the highest run-scorer at Auckland’s Eden Park. When he was dismissed for 61, it left him just 9 runs short of taking the BLACKCAPS’ record for the most runs at a single ground. After making just 4 against South Africa, and missing out on playing any ODIs at the ground in the 2017-18 season, Guptill is still waiting to break the record and now he has Ross Taylor’s Seddon Park tally breathing down his neck.

While Guptill is within touching distance of the BLACKCAPS’ record for the most runs at a single ground, he still has some work to do to take the New Zealand record off Suzie Bates. The WHITE FERNS’ regularly play at Lincoln, which is why Bates’ tally there dominates, but the number of grounds used for women’s ODIs in New Zealand is vast and includes a few parks which many fans may not be aware have hosted internationals.
