Wellington won the timeless match by 145 runs after five of their players scored centuries during the game. The centurions were, first innings: Wiri Baker (143), Bert Kortlang (103), and Herb McGirr (117), and second innings: Syd Hiddleston (150) and David Collins (110). The victory sealed the Plunket Shield for Wellington in the 1923-24 season.
