Welcome to the National Cricket Museum

Late in 1987, Wellington gained a new attraction when the Governor-General opened New Zealand’s only cricket museum at the Basin Reserve. For years the dream had been there; not until 1986 did the opportunity arise to convert it into reality by creating a place to store and show historical items. Within eighteen months the dining area in the old stand (built in 1924) was converted into a home for cricket memories.

Thank you for visiting us; we hope that you have found here something to enjoy and appreciate.

From an early document introducing visitors and supporters to the New Zealand Cricket Museum. The sentiment remains the same, thanks for your support!
